The town of Clayton, California is a little ol‘ cowboy town just over 30 miles east of San Francisco and the current home of Vanessa’s parents. It once housed the local farm bureau and was the hub for all the farmers and ranchers out in what is still unincorporated county land to the east. Some of the old farms remain out along Marsh Creek and Morgan Territory Roads, and one is still within the city limits: Mt. Diablo Ranch, where we are gettin’ hitched.

getting to clayton

The nearest airports are SFO (San Francisco, CA) and OAK (Oakland, CA). BART, one of our fabulous public transportation systems here in Northern California, has a station at SFO. At OAK there is an inexpensive shuttle that will take you to the nearest BART station—it takes about ten minutes. The Pittsburg/Bay Point trains will get you within a fifteen-minute drive of Clayton; just get off at either the Walnut Creek or Concord station.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Walnut Creek Marriott at a special rate of $89.00/night. The rate is good from Thursday, May 12, 2011 through Sunday, May 15, 2011. Additional nights (Mon-Wed on either side) will be charged at whatever the current corporate rate is, usually about $200. Be sure to tell them you want the “Siino and Haack Wedding”. (That’s [see-no] and [hawk] if you”re trying to pronounce it, but be prepared to spell!)
Update 5/10 (Tuesday): The Marriott has closed the group booking. If you still want to book under the group rate, email us and we can still get you set up.
Note: The Marriott seems to be occasionally running out of rooms. They originally told us they would increase the reservation as this happens, but it doesn't seem to be happening.
